There are many different variations of acreages, estates, ranches on the market today and what we have done is try to break it down in to some general categories so that you can get an idea of what you are looking.

Residential / Vacation Acreage Properties

These acreages tend to be smaller ranging anywhere from 1 to 5 or more acres. There are many subdivisions being built these days that fit this description, new homes with all the services, but on bigger lots and outside of the city for the peace and quiet.

These smaller acreages are perfect for retirement and the quieter life, young families that do not want to be in the city, or for a recreational cabin for the family to get together.

Lake front properties can usually fall in to this category and the thing to look for is power, sewer, and water already piped in. If they are not you can always ask your Realtor if they know if the area you are looking at is slotted for being integrated in to the grid any time soon.

Pricing ranges from $60,000 and can go up to a million or more depending on the size of the lot and the quality of the house that is on the property, and if it is close to a lake and any other amenities

Vacant Lots

If you are looking to build your own home then a vacant lot that is on the grid is the way to go. Vacant lots allow you to build your own home, a small cabin, move in a trailer or a mobile home and really create what you see in your minds eye.

Lot’s that have the power, sewage, and water already built in are more costly than those that do not. But if you want to build a new environmentally friendly home with the newest biodegradable toilets, wind turbines, solar panels, and water filtration systems, then a well-priced lot off the grid is perfect.

Pricing can range from $50,000 and go up depending on the size of the lot, if the power, sewer, and water are piped in already, and if it is close to a lake and any other amenities.

Hobby Farms

Hobby farms usually start at couple acres and go up. These types of properties are great for the upcoming ranch or for people with horses. Or that young business that the owners want to cut out the commute to work and that needs manufacturing space.

Properties that have ranch facilities built in are considerably more than those that do not and the price is based on the size of the lot, the size and quality of the house, and any extra facilities like barns, sheds, fencing, etc.
